Wedgwood Halls

Wedgwood Halls is one of the Halls of Residence at the Stoke Campus of Staffordshire University. Each of the buildings is named after famous potters, the Wedgwood in question being Josiah Wedgwood.

The building is split into 4 sections, each recognizable by a different colour. The colours are "Blue", "Yellow", "Red" and "Green". Each section of Wedgwood Halls houses up to 36 students at a time. There are 3 floors, each containing 12 student rooms accompanied by a bathroom (containing 3 showers and 2 toilet cubicles) and a kitchen (containing two cookers, 3 fridge-freezers, two sinks and enough storage space for up to twelve residents.

Wedgwood Red holds facilities for disabled students such as a disabled toilet and larger room. Wedgwood green contains rooms adapted for deaf students, i.e., flashing lights and an attachment for a vibrating pillow to signal that the fire alarm is going off.[1]

It is usually standard practice to put boys on the bottom floor of any single gender halls on campus, for security reasons.

Wedgwood and in particular wedgewood red are the known as the "party" halls and is located no more than a 100 yards away from the Student Union Bar the LRV (Leed Road Venue).
